Kenneth O. “Kenny” Burgett, age 91 passed away Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Bargersville.

Kenny was born November 2, 1916 in Trafalgar to the late Floyd E. and Edith E. (Jefferies) Burgett. He married his loving wife of sixty-eight years Florence Mae (Jones) Burgett on June 18, 1940 in Martinsville. She survives in Bargersville.

He was the devoted father of Connie D. (Ken) Minett of Franklin, David K. (Le) Burgett of Bargersville and Martha J. (Galen) Miller of Westfield; grandpa to ten grandchildren: Lora Miller, Dale Burgett, Darren Burgett, Brent Minett, Kendra VerSteeg, Kyla Zastrow, Brandon Minett, Gayla Young, Alayna Haas, Todd Miller and seventeen great grandchildren.

Kenny was preceded in death by four sisters: Clara Jane Douglass, Marjorie Clark, Mildred Tucker & Katherine Taylor; two brothers: Cecil & Raymond Burgett.

He served as a Seaman First Class with the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Owl during World War II.

Kenny retired in 1978 as a Custodian with the Franklin Community School Corporation after ten years of service. Prior to that he worked on the dock for Roadway Express and as an Assembler for Allison Engine Company and Naval Avionics all of Indianapolis.

He was a Charter Member and Past Elder of the Fair Haven Christian Church in Franklin. Kenny had a love for nature and enjoyed feeding the birds and planting trees. He enjoyed working in his flower and vegetable gardens. Kenny loved to read his bible, work crossword puzzles and spend time with his family.

Pastor Jeff Johnson will conduct a funeral service 10:30 AM Wednesday at Fair Haven Christian Church, 1476 W. 300 S. in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be at First Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin with military graveside rites.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Kenny to the Fair Haven Christian Church “Building Fund” 1476 W. 300 S. Franklin, IN 46131.
