Frances A. (Zupancic) Parsley age 80 passed away Thursday afternoon, August 16, 2007 at Todd-Aikens Health Center in Franklin. She was a life long resident of Brown County.

Born January 23, 1927 in Brown County, she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Gregorich) Zupancic. Frances married Elmer Parsley Jr. on December 27, 1958 in Martinsvile. He survives.

Other survivors include one daughter Robin Elizabeth (Bill Esarey) Parsley of Plainfield; one brother: John (Mary) Zupancic of Morgantown; sister n’ law: Eileen (Max) Eubanks of Franklin; three neices: Helen (John) Smith, Monica (Bill) Witt & Anna Zupancic; four nephews: John (Marie) Zupancic, Harry (Vicki) Zupancic, Charles (Suzanne) Zupancic & George (Shirley) Zupancic; several great & great-great neices & nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Josephine Zupancic and Mary Rose Haggard; three brothers: Tony, Joseph & infant brother John Jr. Zupancic.

Frances was a 1945 graduate of Helmsburg High School in Brown County and received her Associate Bachelors degree in 1948 from Canterbury College which was formerly known as Central Normal in Danville. She later received her Masters in Secondary Education from Indiana University in 1957.

Retiring in 1988, Frances was a devoted school teacher for over forty years teaching Social Studies and Biology for the Brown County School Corporation.

She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Edinburgh since 1999 and a past 60 year member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Brown County. Other memberships include: Indiana Retired Teachers Association, Brown County Farm Bureau Inc., past Board Member of the Brown County Health Department where she held the office of Secretary, past board member of the Hamblen Township Advisory Board, KSKJ Society and was a past Leader for Brown County Brownies and 4 – H.

Frances enjoyed quilting, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, spending time with her family and baking.

The Father Tom Schliessmann will conduct a Funeral Mass 10:30 am Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 100 Keeley Street in Edinburgh.

Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 pm at Meredith – Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. A Rosary Service will be 7:30 pm Sun. at Funeral Home
Interment will be Monday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
