| | | Curtis Baker, age 69 passed away Thursday evening, July 12, 2007 at Meadow Lakes Nursing Home in Mooresville. He was a resident of Indianapolis and a former resident of Brown County.
Born July 13, 1938 in Pineville, KY, he was the son of the late Mitchell and Sylvia (Rice) Baker. Curits married Donna D. Dodson November 28, 1957 in Indianapolis. She survives.
Other survivors include one daughter: Donita C. (Donnie) Bentley of Monrovia; one son: Curtis Allen (Robyn) Baker of Greenfield; three sisters: Rita Dodson of Columbus, Janice (Junior) Swafford of Brown County, Sherry (Bud) Emerson of Brown County; three brothers: Eugene (Janell) Baker Sr. of Brown County, Wayne (Shirley) Baker of Brazil, Jerry (Jackie) Baker of Brown County six grandchild, Jamie Sizemore of Indianapolis, Michael Sizemore of Martinsville, Jessica Sizemore of London, KY, Misty Hardy of Rushville, Allyson & Brooke Baker of both Greenfield; four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: one brother: Paul Baker; one sister: Gertrude Baker.
Curtis retired in 2000 as a Liaison to the Labor for the United Way of Central Indiana after 8 years of service. He also was a fourty-two year member of the Indianaīs Carpenters Union Local #60 in Indianapolis.
He was a member of the House of Christ Church in Indianapolis since 1999 and a member of the Way of the Holiness Tabernacle Church in Brown County where he helped his family build the church in 1973. Curtis was also a member of the Nashville Masonic Lodge #135. He was the reciepient of the Sagamore of the Walbash Award in 2000. Curtis enjoyed reading his bible, spending time with his grandchildren, coon hunting, fishing and golfing. He was an Indianapolis Colts fan and enjoyed watching shows at the Little Nashville Opry.
The Rev. Wayne Baker will conduct a funeral service 10 am Monday at the Way of the Holiness Tabernacle Church, 145 Hurdle Road in Morgantown. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 6 pm at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.
Interment will be Monday at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery in Brown County.
