A full service funeral home, like Mehl's, is designed to remove as many logistical details from the process as possible, allowing families to process their grief. After speaking with your family at the funeral arrangement conference, we will contact your church and coordinate the funeral with them. We will contact the doctor and arrange for the death certificate to be signed. After the doctor signs the certificate we will complete and file it with the county of death along with all the other required paper work. At that time we will order as many certified copies of the death certificate as you have requested. We will help write the obituary and notify any newspaper you wish the obituary notice to appear in. If your family member was in the military or any special organization, we will explain any benefits that you may be entitled to and help complete the necessary paperwork to apply for those benefits. If you would like the military or any special organization to take part in the funeral service , we will contact them and arrange it. We will help you complete claim forms and apply for benefits if you have insurance. We are here to assist you through this most difficult time. To do this we are prepared to help in any way necessary. |
