
DIRECT CREMATION
This charge includes: a portion of the basic service of the funeral director and staff charge, a proportionate share of the overhead costs, local removal during regular business hours and transportation to the crematory. This charge does not include the cost of the cremation itself, funeral or memorial services, permit fees or certified copies of the death certificate. If funeral or memorial services are requested, the regular service charges will apply (see cremation services with a memorial service).
If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. An alternative container is an unfinished wood box or other not-metal receptacle or enclosure, without ornamentation or a fixed interior lining, which is designed for the encasement of human remains and which is made of fiberboard, pressed wood, composition materials (with or without an outside covering) or like materials.
Direct cremation with container provided by the purchaser. Cost is $1,321.00.
Direct cremation with fiberboard container provided by the funeral home, plus sales tax. Cost is $1,375.13.
A direct cremation with cremation charges, fiberboard container, tax and fees: $1,875.13.
Direct cremation with a family service and/or witnessing at PVMP before cremation: $2,550.13. (Up to 12 people and minister can attend a service or witnessing at the cemetery before the cremation takes place.) This service would include PVMP use of chapel charges $325 as well as Mehl's charges. This service does not include an open casket or viewing of the body.
Shipment of cremation remains to the place of final disposition. $50
