| | | It is with great sadness that the family of Eleanor McFadden announces her passing, after a long illness, at Park Vista Retirement Center in Youngstown, on Tuesday, 20 October 2009 at about 12:00 noon. Eleanor was born 2 January 1922 in Cleveland to William H. and Elizabeth Ann (Ogle) Martin.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: William Martin of Mantua, Robert Martin of Parma, and Sara Pleuss of Monroe, Mich., as well as by her first husband, Paul David Belter, who died 13 April 1964.
She is survived by her husband, E. LeRoy “Roy” McFadden, who she married 17 July 1965, as well as by her sons, Paul W. (Barbara) Belter of Atlanta, Ga., and William W. (Dorothy) Belter of Houston, Tex.
A gentle lady of many interests, Eleanor was valedictorian of her class at Cleveland South High School. A dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church in Warren, she was active in the church in the Women’s Association and served on the Library Committee. She also belonged to Green Thumb Gardeners, the Fortnightly Study Group, the Warren Library Association, and served as a Pink Lady for over thirty years at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services are 12:00 noon Saturday, 24 October 2009 at First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44483, with Rev. Rusty Cowden officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park. Friends may call 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday at the church.
A memorial service will also be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, 26 October 2009 at Park Vista Retirement Community – South Building, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44504, with Rev. Alan Hutchison officiating.
