James R. Shriver, 74, of Bristolville, died Saturday, August 15, 2009 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. He was born May 26, 1935 in Orange, Ohio, the son of John and Myrtle Shriver.
A graduate of Shaw High School in East Cleveland, Mr. Shriver served in the U.S. Army. He had worked as a foot doctor’s technician, and most recently in the gas booth at Orwell Golden Dawn. He enjoyed gardening, theater, and animals.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn (Deck) Shriver, whom he married October 1, 1970; two daughters, Devon Shriver of Cleveland and Brittany Shriver of Bristolville; a son, Michael Shriver of Bristolville; two sisters; and a brother. Preceding him in death are his parents and three brothers.
Services are private. Cremation is taking place. Material contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League, 545 Brunstetter Rd. S.W., Warren, Ohio 44481.
