WESTFIELD-C. Rudolph Emilson, age 66, of Spring Street, Westfield died Saturday, February 25, 2006 at home following an extended illness.
Mr. Emilson was born on September 20, 1939 in Hammondsport, NY the son of the late Herbert O. and Francelia (French) Emilson.

A Westfield resident since 1992, he moved here from Fredonia. He earned his batchelor of science in music from SUNY Fredonia and received his master of music degree from Ithaca College, and completed course work for his doctorate in music at Indiana University at Bloomington, IND, where he was the first recipient of the William J. Bell Memorial Scholarship. He retired in 2000 from SUNY Fredonia where he had been an associate Professor of Music for 32 years. While at SUNY Fredonia his primary teaching was the Tuba and conducting as well as Percussion for non majors He conducted the SUNY Fredonia Brass Choir which was a stand out group and was well recognized for their accomplishments. He recieved many music accolaides and enjoyed well deserved accomplishments during his career as a music educator.
He has several published Snare Drum duets and Tuba arrangements and transcriptions.
In his spare time, he enjoyed refuinishing furniture.
Mr. Emilson was a member of First United Methodist Church Of Westfield. He was also a member of MENC, ITEA, and NYSUT. (all education Associations)

He is survived by his wife: Pauline R. (Kenney) Emilson who he married on December 2,1978 in Dansville, NY and one son: Jeffrey A. Emilson at home. He is also survived by his one sister: Karoline Bleecher of Buffalo, NY. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and are invited to attend the funeral services on Wednesday at 1:00PM at The First United Methodist Church Of Westfield with Rev. Matthew Golibersuch officiating.
Private burial will be in Union Cemetery.
