| | | WESTFIELD-Miss.Catherine N. Reid, age 85, of East Main Street, Westfield died Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at Waters Of Westfield.
Mrs. Reid was born April 6, 1920 at Westfield, NY the daughter of the late Herbert H. and Vera (Stowell) Reid.
A member of the Banking system that was called Marine Midland Bank for over 39 years, Catherine was a pioneer of sorts for women who chose a career in Banking. When she retired in 1982 she had risen through the banking ranks first as a file clerk for the fomer Union Trust Bank and retired as Branch Banking Officer for the former Marine Midland Bank of Westfield, now known as HSBC.
She was a member of Zonta International Club and enjoyed golf and bowling. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church And Society Of Westfield where she was Organist for over 19 yrs. She was a devoted caregiver to her family.
She is survived by her three sisters: Lucille S. Norberg of Jamestown, NY, Doris L. Reid of Westfield, NY, Gladys B. Sailor of Minneapolis, MN and one brother: William H. Reid of Westfield, NY
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her four brothers, Walter, Howard, Lawrence and Jay Reid, and by her four sisters; Lura Morgan, Lois Reagan, Ethel Grover and Alma Reid.
Friends may call on Friday afternoon from 4-6 PM at The MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 11:00 at The First Presbyterian Church And Society Of Westfield, with The Rev. Dr. Alexander Holmes officiating.
Burial will be in Westfield Cemetery.
