| | | WESTFIELD - Cosomino Rose “Minnie” (Guarino) LaPorte, age 100 of Union Street, Westfield, NY, died Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at the Waters Of Westfield, Westfield, NY.
Born in Fredonia, NY, on April 2, 1905 a daughter of the late Louis and Frances (St. George) Guarino. She attended Fredonia Schools and had resided most all of her life in Westfield.
She had been a Seamstress for Barmon Bros. Sewing Factory in Westfield for many years
and had previously been employed by Rood-Mclean Canning Factory of Westfield.
Mrs. LaPorte was a member of St. James Major Roman Catholic Church of Westfield and was a
Life member of the St. James Major Altar And Rosary Society. She was also a member of the
St. Lucy Society of St. Anthony´s Roman Catholic Church of Fredonia
Minnie was and avid Card player who greatly enjoyed knitting and crocheting as well as gardening.
She is survived by her three daughters: Phyllis Ciminello of Fredonia, NY, Frances Corcoran of Westfield, NY, and Marie Sack of Silver Creek, NY as well as by her 3 Half Sisters, Jennie Bifaro of Dunkirk, NY; Frances Pantano of Fredonia, NY; and Annie Notaro of Fredonia, NY; as and her Half Brother, Frank Pennica of Fredonia, NY;
7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren also survive.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Leonard J. LaPorte and
her sister Bertha Valvo.
Friends may call at The MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY, on
Thursday, September 29, 2005 from 4-7 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM At St. James Major RC church of Westfield. Fr. Daniel Young will officiate.
Interment will be in St. James Cemetery.
