Esther A. Miller
Esther A. (Coburn) Miller, age 94, of Webster Road, Portland, NY, died Friday, February 25, 2005 at home in Portland, New York with her family by her side.
A Portland area resident since 1971, she and her late husband moved here from Lakewood. She lived most of her life in the Lakewood area. She was a graduate of Sherman High School and Fredonia Normal School with a degree in Education. She taught School in a one room school house in Clymer, NY for several years. She had also worked in the cafeteria of the Lakewood School. In 1971 she and her husband moved to Webster Road, Town of Portland to persue a career in farming. She was a member of the Tri Church of Brocton.
She was born May 13, 1910 in Girard, Pennsylvania the daughter of Charles and Alma (Vrooman) Coburn.
Survivors include her son and his wife;
Jerry and Joyce Miller of Guilford, NY, her 3 grandchildren; Kurt Miller of Benson, NC, Keith Miller of Avon, NY, and Arah Miller of Wilmington, NC,
6 great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her father, Charles Coburn, and her mother, Alma (Vrooman) Coburn, Charles H. Miller (Son), Roswell Coburn (Brother).
Visitation will be at MASON Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2PM until the time of services there at 3 PM
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 3:00 P.M. at MASON Funeral Home. Her son, Lay Minister Jerry Miller of the Sidney C&MA Church will be officiating.
Private Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetry in Jamestown.
