MEMORIAL SERVICES

A memorial service is a ceremony without the body of the deceased present.  This may be following cremation, immediate burial, or body donation to medical science.  Because there is no body to view, many families bring in pictures of the deceased.  Along with photos, other mimorabilia that reflects the life of that person may be displayed.  A visitation may also be held the night before a memorial service, giving the family a time to reminisce and visit with those who befriended the deceased.  Memorial services are just as important as traditional funeral services, and it is the responsibility of the family to decide what type of service will best suit their needs, and fulfill the wishes of their loved one.
