| | | Nassau-William D. Moxon, Sr., age 65 years, of Nassau Averill Park Road passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday February 1, 2006. He was born in Albany and lived in Rensselaer, before moving to Nassau, 23 years ago. Bill owned and operated his own electronics company and was a US Marine Corps veteran, being awarded a Purple Heart. He was president since 1970 of the Tri City Woodsmen, president of Rensselaer County Conservation Alliance, being a member for over 30 years, president of the Nassau Lake Association for 6 years, a member of the Toxic Waste Committee for the town of Nassau, New York State Outdoor Writers and was an avid hunter and fisherman, being a licensed outdoor guide.
Husband of Gail E. Hulsopple Moxon of Nassau; father of William D. Moxon, Jr. of Castleton, Susan George of Rensselaer, Pamela Murphy of Colonie, Edward Moxon of Nassau, David Moxon of Nassau, Joyce Wells of Colonie and the late Linda Moxon. Brother of Gloria Snyder of East Greenbush, Leonard Moxon, Jr. of Catskill, Mary Chapman of Gloversville, Earl Irish of Charleston, SC, Virginia Anzalone of FL. and the late Raymond Irish and Sally Hill. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Saturday afternoon at 4:00 PM. All are welcom to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Interment with full military honors will take place at a future date at New Rural Cemetery, East Greenbush.
