FOSTER TETER, age 83 years, a resident of Job, WV departed this life Thursday evening, October 29, 2009 at his home.
He was born Sunday, May 16, 1926 at Elkins, a son of the late Leon Teter and Eltha Nelson Teter. On November 5, 1951at Elkins, he was united in marriage to the former Bonnie Bennett, who survives at Job. They had celebrated fifty-seven years of marriage. Also surviving is one daughter, Donna Teter, Job, two sons, Leon Teter, Job and Mark Teter and wife, Linda, Canaan Crossing Dry Fork, six grandsons, Randy Teter and wife, Jeri, Wayne Teter and wife, Kelly, Garrick Teter and wife, Kristin, Lee Teter, all of Job, Chad Currence and wife, Brandi, Clarksburg, Craig Currence and wife, Megan, Barrackville, four great grandsons, four great granddaughters, several nieces and nephews, and a special uncle, George Teter, Job.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, Basil, Charles and an infant, and one grandson, Shawn Currence.
Foster attended the schools of Randolph County, had retired from the United State Army with twenty years of service, and had also retired from working as a mechanic for the Department of Natural Resources of Canaan Valley State Park. He had helped with the construction of the Canaan Valley Golf Course, enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, was an avid mechanic, and was a member of the Harman Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 5781.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8PM, Monday. Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 11AM. Pastor Keith Fought will officiate and interment will follow at the Bennett Cemetery at Job. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Hospice Care Corporation, P.O. Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520-0760.
