| | | JOHN NORMAN AMORESE, age 56 years, a native of Randolph County, a former resident of Jane Lew, WV and more recently a resident of Buckhannon, WV departed this life Thursday afternoon, June 14, 2007 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV. Death was attributed to complications from diabetes.
He was born Friday, April 6, 1951 at Charleston, WV a son of the late Frank Amorese and Marguerite Mansfield Amorese. He was married to the former Jayne Puffenbarger who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Preston Quinn Amorese, Philippi; Travis Reiley Amorese, Buckhannon; two brothers, his twin Carl Amorese and wife, Rebecca, Elkins; and Roger Amorese, Elkins.
He was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1970 and was a noted drummer with the Elkins High School Fighting Tiger Band. He was a veteran of the United States Army for twelve years, serving in Hawaii and Germany.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Saturday, June 16, 2007 from 1PM until 3PM, the funeral hour. The Reverend Kevin E. Hostetler will officiate and cremation will follow. Interment will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery with full military rites being accorded by members of the H. W. Daniel’s Post # 29, American Legion and the Tygarts Valley Post # 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to Mountain Hospice, 1600 Crim Avenue, Belington, WV 26250.
