| | | LOUIS JOSEPH ANTOLINE, age 89 years, a native of Coalton, WV and a resident of Arthurdale, WV, departed this life Tuesday morning, January 30, 2007 at the Monongalia General Hospital at Morgantown, WV.
He was born Saturday, October 27, 1917 at Coalton, WV a son of the late Nunzio “James” Antoline and Antionetta DiBacco Antoline. On July 7, 1947 at Oakland, Maryland he was married to the former Doris Ann Hutchison, who preceded him in death during 1985. Surviving are one son, Steve Antoline and wife Jameberlyn, Summersville; two daughters, Connie Holmes, Louisville, OH; Cathy Messenger and husband Chuck, Bruceton Mills; five grandchildren, Tracy Holmes; Debbie Frederick; Emily, Kristopher and Madison Antoline; one great granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Frederick; and a special niece, Frances Girard.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by two brothers, James and Patrick Antoline; two sisters, his twin sister, Anna Polce and Cora Travise.
Louis attended the schools of Coalton, was a veteran of World War II, having served as a Sergeant with the United States Army was a well-known business man, having owned and operated Antoline Mining and Connie Coal Company in Preston County and later served as a Shift Superintendent for the Consolidated Coal Company, Osage # 3 Mine at Monongalia County, retiring in 1980. He was a life member of the H. W. Daniel’s Post # 29, American Legion, the VFW Post at Masontown, WV and the Saint Zita’s Catholic Church at Masontown, WV.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Thursday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Friday, February 2, 2007 at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Father Eric Antwi will be the Presider and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV, where the H. W. Daniel’s Post # 29, American Legion will present the American Flag. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the West Virginia University Children’s Hospital, in care of the Development Office, P. O. Box 8200, Morgantown, WV 26506-8200 in memory of Louis Antoline, who was touched by a great granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Frederick, cancer survivor.
