NORMA JANE “JANIE” PUDDER ASH, age 61 years, a resident of Junior, WV, departed this life Wednesday evening, May 31, 2006 at the United Hospital Center at Clarksburg, WV. She had been in failing health for the past few weeks.
She was born Saturday, February 3, 1945 at Elkins, a daughter of the late Troy Layman Pudder and Norma L. “Toots” Corley Pudder. On April 18, 1964, she was married to Domnick T. “Donnie” Ash, who survives at Junior. They had celebrated forty-two years of marriage.
Also surviving her are two sons, Troy T. “Tom” Ash and wife, Evelyn, Junior, and Timothy B. Ash and wife, Rachel, Cassity, one daughter, Beth Ann St. Vincent and husband, Richard, Brentwood, TN, three brothers, Troy H. “Chuck” Pudder and wife, Joyce, Harding, Carl S. Pudder and wife, Gloria, Junior, and Darl L. Pudder and wife, Debbie, Harding, thirteen grandchildren, Holly, Amanda, Kayleigh, Elizabeth, and Domnick Ash, Holly, W.C. and Chuck Thompson, Hailie and Austin Arnold, Zachary, Ian, and Trey St. Vincent, one great grandchild, Leon’na Ash, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Coalton High School with the class of 1964, was a past president of the Junior Elementary P.T.A. and the Junior Volunteer Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary, she had served on the Junior Emergency Squad, was a former mayor and councilwoman for the town of Junior, had worked as the Town Recorder and Water Clerk, had worked the election polls, was a member of the Aerie #2344, Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, and was a life member of Belington Post #410, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Saturday from 6 to 9 PM. At 7 PM, Saturday, the Aerie #2344, Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a fraternal service. Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at 2 PM. The Reverend Doyle N. Rider will officiate and interment will follow at the Coffman Cemetery at Harding, WV.
