| | | JEANETTE HARRIS-BECK, age 83 years, a resident of 128 Guy Street, Elkins, West Virginia, departed this life Sunday morning, January 30, 2005, comfortably, at Davis Memorial Hospital with her close family at her bedside. She had been in declining health.
She was born Friday, July 1, 1921 at Glady, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Raphael Simeon Harris and Lena Bowers-Harris. She met the love of her life, Archie F. Beck and became joined in marriage on June 13, 1942. Together, they made their home in Elkins, West Virginia until Mr. Beck passed away on October 12, 1968.
Surviving family members include two sons, Danny Beck with wife Sheryl and Fredrick Lee Beck, Sr. and Jean Beck-Thomas, and the joy of her life, her grandchildren, Andy, Aaron, Fredrick Lee, Jr., and William J. “Bill” Beck, four beautiful great grandchildren, Hanna Marie and Charlie Beck, Katarina “Kat” Aislin and Mary Zoe Beck, her brother, Robert Harris, three loving sisters, Mabel Harris Payne, Greta Harris Miller with husband Frank, and Alice Mae Antolini, two sister-in-laws, Anna Mae Davis-Harris and Elizabeth Howard Harris, beloved and caring nieces Sheila Rayes with husband Tim, and Joyce Hill with husband Larry, and nephew, David Antolini.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband are four brothers, James, Jack, Doc, and Fielding Harris, and her beloved sister Geneva Harris-Triplett.
She attended the school at Glady, West Virginia. She worked earnestly at the Memorial General Hospital for most of her life dedicating herself to the health and will being of her patients. She was a member of the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Friends will be received at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Monday from 6 to 9 PM. Final Rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 11 AM. The Reverend Jeff Falter will officiate and interment will follow at Elkins Memorial Gardens (formerly the I.O.O.F. Cemetery).
