ELDA VIRGINIA SHAHAN BALL, age 89 years, a former resident of St. George, WV., and more recently a resident of the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Oakland, Md., departed this life Monday evening, March 10. 2008 at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital at Oakland, Md.
She was born Sunday, June 2, 1918 at Parsons, WV., a daughter of the late Datis A. Shahan and Martha M. Davis Shahan. On September 24, 1938 at Parsons, WV., she was married to Wilbert B. Ball, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son; John J. Ball of Frostburg, Md., one brother: Luther Shahan of Fellowsville, WV., two grandchildren: Kandy Crockett and Roudy J. Ball and three great grandchildren: Kari, Tristin and Michelle.
Preceding her in death are two brothers; Lester and Junior Shahan.
She attended the one room school at Bull Run. She was a homemaker. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Macedonia Methodist Church. She loved flowers.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 11 AM. Pastor Pat Cassidy will officiate and interment will follow at the Pifer Mountain Cemetery at St. George. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for ELDA VIRGINIA SHAHAN BALL.
