Katherine (Kate) Cushman was born April 9th 1918 in Dallas Co. Iowa. She died on May 22, 2009 at the Community Care Center in Stuart, Iowa. Her parents were Jesse and Elmyra Ross. She graduated from Dexter High School and in 1947 married Joseph Ambrose Towey. He passed away in 1964. In 1968 she married Carroll Cushman and he passed away in 1996.
As a young woman she worked with her father in the painting business. She later worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in Des Moines, Iowa and was employed there for 25 years. II Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord,
the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
HAVING TRUSTED IN JESUS, HE CROSSED OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE

God saw you getting weary
And did what He thought best.
He came and stood beside you
And whispered, “Come and Rest.”
You bid no one a last farewell
Nor could you ever say good-bye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knew why.
