| | | Donald William Shoberg was born on August 2, 1941 to William and Florence (Edlund) Shoberg in Pine City, Minnesota. He received his education in Robbinsdale Schools. On July 14, 1959 he entered the United States Navy serving until his honorable discharge. He returned to the Minneapolis area where he owned and operated a dry wall business in the area for many years. In 1977, Don moved to Billings, Montana and owned a Print Shop. On December 31, 1988, he was united in marriage to Carol “Rosenberg” Bindert at Lehigh Acres in Florida. After their marriage they were managers for The Madrid Club in Naples, Florida until moving back to Welcome in 2002. Don enjoyed driving his 1950 Ford car, doing carpentry projects, gardening and going up to the café.
On Friday morning, May 22, 2009, at 3:00 a.m., Don died at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota at the age of sixty-seven years.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Shoberg of Welcome, Minnesota; his children, Laura (Dan) Foudray of Glendale, Arizona, Kristine Shoberg of Glenwood, New Mexico, Donald (Sophia) Shoberg Jr. of Helsingborg, Sweden, Tim (Robyn) Bindert of Mitchell, South Dakota and Lynne (Mark) Widner of Anoka, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; mother, Florence Ramcke of New Hope, Minnesota; mother-in-law, Neva Rosenberg of Welcome, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Larry (Koleen) Rosenberg of Bloomington, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Don is preceded in death by his father, William Shoberg; daughter, Jeanne; sister, Arbutus Dvorak; brother-in-law, Richard Dvorak; father-in-law, Roy Rosenberg and other relatives and friends.
