| | | Charlotte Evelyn Nelson was born April 11, 1922 to Mike and Lillian (Stedman) Nelson in , Minnesota. She attended and later was a Graduate of Welcome High School. Charlotte was united in marriage to Glen Vincent who later was killed in World War II. On October 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Finke at Fairmont, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in Welcome until moving to Bertha, Minnesota and later moved back to Welcome. She was employed at Buttry's Clothing Store in Fairmont and along with her sister, Eva, operated the Welcome Coffee Shop for a few years. She later made her home at the Roxann House and Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center both in Fairmont. Charlotte was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, cooking and cleaning her house.
Charlotte died on Tuesday evening, October 28, 2008 at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont, Minnesota at the age of 86 years.
She is survived by her sons, Michael “Mick” Finke and his wife, Paula, of Welcome, Minnesota and Sid Vincent and friend, Bonnie, of Bloomington, Minnesota; grandchildren, Scott Vincent and his wife, Rhonda, of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, Gina Hartman and her husband, Dan, of Storm Lake, Iowa and Brian Finke of Fairmont, Minnesota and Aaron Finke of Mankato, Minnesota; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Gwen Monk and her husband, Bill, and Eva Godden both of Welcome, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Hildred Nelson of Fairmont, Minnesota; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husbands, one sister; three brothers; and other relatives.
Interment will be in the Welcome City Cemetery.
