| | | Wallace Oscar Klatt was born December 13, 1940 to Oscar and Ruth (Kriesch) Klatt in Ceresco Township, rural Vernon Center, Minnesota. He attended rural school in Willow Creek and later was a 1958 Graduate of Madelia High School. Wally was employed at the Lewisville Creamery and then at Danheim’s Dairy in New Ulm. Since 1972 he was employed at Culligan in Madelia until the time of his death. On December 10, 1988 she was united in marriage to Julia Hageman-Olson at Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in Madelia. Wally was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Madelia. He greatly enjoyed playing cards, playing cribbage, eating out, taking trips, loved to be driving his car and being on the go. Wally was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.
Wally died on Tuesday morning, August 26, 2008 at the Madelia Community Hospital in Madelia, Minnesota from a courageous battle fighting lung disease at the age of sixty-seven years.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Klatt of Madelia, Minnesota; his children, Jim and Karen Klatt of Silver Lake, Minnesota, Paul and Carolyn Klatt of Zimmerman, Minnesota, Kurt and Emily Zehnder of Wells, Minnesota, Jeff Olson and friend, Deb, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dan Olson and friend, Barb, of Northfield, Minnesota; ten grandchildren, Jennessa and Kallyssa Klatt, Cole and Carly Klatt, Cody, Madison, Jadah and Payton Zehnder, Suzanne Olson, Amanda (Jeff) Arndt; ex-daughter-in-law, Cindy Olson of Burnsville, Minnesota; two sisters, Loretta Klaus of Madelia, Minnesota and Luetta Boeck and husband, Orval, of Lewisville, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; mother-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Madelia, Minnesota.
