Donald Augustus Klenz was born June 28, 1917 to Christian and Agnes (Knoop) Klenz in Tenhassen Township, Martin County, Minnesota. He was received into the Kingdom of God through Holy Baptism on March 10, 1918 and later reaffirmed his faith through his Confirmation on March 20, 1932 at the E & R Church in Fairmont. Donald received his education in rural school in Tenhassen Township. On September 24, 1939, he was united in marriage to LuVerna Palm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome, Minnesota. After their marriage they farmed near Welcome for forty-two years and later moved to Fairmont in 1982. Donald did mechanical work-engine repair for area farmers and after moving to Fairmont was employed for a number of years with Bach Construction. Donald was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome and where he held various church offices and was a member for sixty-eight years. He greatly enjoyed doing wood crafts after retiring. He was a past member of Rolling Green Town Board. Donald passed away on Sunday morning, June 1, 2008, at the Fairmont Medical Center in Fairmont, Minnesota, at the age of 90.   Survivors include his wife, LuVerna Klenz of Fairmont, Minnesota; son, Dennis Klenz and his wife, Helen, of Georgetown, Texas; sister-in-law, Velma Palm of Fairmont, Minnesota; nephews, Darrel Klenz and his wife, Muriel, of Fairmont, Minnesota, Russell Klenz and his wife, Judy, of Fairmont, Minnesota, Robert Palm of Heron Lake, Minnesota; niece, Linda Palm of Fairmont, Minnesota and other relatives and friends.   Donald was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Paul Klenz and his wife, Lorena; four brothers-in-law, Vincent, August Jr., Elmer and Fred Palm and other relatives. Interment will be in the Welcome City Cemetery in Welcome, Minnesota.
