Joanne M. Lobeck, 75, of Evansdale, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Allen Memorial Hospital from complications of cancer.
She was born March 31, 1936 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Delmar and Olivia Madsen Carr. She married Theodore H. “Ted” Lobeck September 25, 1955 in Waterloo.
Mrs. Lobeck was a homemaker and had various jobs throughout her life. She loved her dog, “Sammy,” enjoyed reading, shopping, going to the casino, and traveling across the country with friends and family.
Joanne is survived by her husband of Evansdale; one son, Kevin (Linette) Lobeck of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Becky ( Jack) Risner of Eagle, Idaho; one sister, Beverly McCarter of California; three grandsons, Jacob, Kyle, and Travis Risner; and four sisters-in-law, Marilyn Deeds, Marlyn Neuendorf, and Mary (Ron) Kettwig, all of Evansdale, and Delores Carr of New Hartford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Harold Carr.
A private family memorial gathering will be held. There will be no public visitation or services. The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel assisted the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family, which will then be directed to local cancer organizations.
