Richard J. Sloan, 92, of Traer and formerly of Waterloo died Monday morning at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer of prolonged Alzheimers.
He was born January 19, 1920 in Independence the son of Michael and Maude R. Bantz Sloan. He married Dorothy Campbell on January 5, 1940 in Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 26, 2008.
Richard was retired from the John Tractor Works after 35 years as a welder. He served in the Army during WW 11.
Richard is survived by one daughter, Denise (Mark) Tippie of Park City, UT.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Waterloo Cemetery.
