Romaine M. Ehlers, 78, of La Porte City died Saturday morning at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home of complications of alzheimers. She was born February 24, 1932 in Owatonna, MN the daughter of Hans and Margaret Alice Johnson Hjulsager. She married William Emil Ehlers on October 10, 1953 in Cedar Falls. Romaine was a secretary at the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works. She is survived by her husband, one son: Ronald W. (Deb) Ehlers of La Porte City, one daughter; Diane R. (Scott) McIntosh of La Porte City, one sister: Betty M. Mortimer of Charles City, 6 grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great granddaughter: Natalie Trebon. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Nov 23, at the American Lutheran Church with burial in the Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Friends may call at the church from 5- 7 P.M. Monday and an hour before services. Those who wish may direct memorials to the Church or the Alzheimers Foundation. In Celebration of her life, please feel free to wear red to the service as it was her favorite color.
