| | | Bill D. Sommerfelt, 44, of Cresco, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Ridgeway.
He was born February 1, 1965 in Waterloo, son of Delbert and Vivian Domer Sommerfelt. He married Cheryl Holst July 6, 1984 in Brandon.
Mr. Sommerfelt was the pastor at the Assembly of God Church in Cresco. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bill was a former member of Celebrations Assembly of God Church in Waterloo.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl of Cresco; his parents, Delbert and Vivian Sommerfelt of Independence; one son, Drew Jennifer) Sommerfelt of Reinbeck; two daughters, Rachel (Eric) Opperman of Waterloo and Ashley Sommerfelt of Cresco; three brothers, Terry (Laurie) Sommerfelt of Earlville, Brian (Linda) Sommerfelt of Houston, Texas, and Traci (Brandy) Sommerfelt of Antioch, Illinois; one sister, Kimberley Sommerfelt of Independence; three grandchildren, Lexus Walker, Parker Opperman, and Gwenivere Sommerfelt; many nieces and nephews, and the family dog, Jada.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Wade Sommerfelt.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Celebrations First Assembly of God Church, with cremation to follow. Public visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the church. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
