| | | Marvin L. "Bud" Bauer, 84, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday October 26, 2009 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home of natural causes.
He was born May 19, 1925 in Buchanan County, son of Frank P. and Laura Mumford Bauer. He married Hazel Howke August 20, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She preceded him death in September 1983.
Mr. Bauer was employed at Rath Packing Company for 42 years, retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. Marvin was a member of the Becker-Chapman American Legion Post #138 and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include one son, Larry M. (Kathleen) Bauer of Ballwin, Missouri; one daughter, Barb (Larry) Wandro of Waterloo; one brother, Richard (Phyllis) Bauer of Waterloo; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one sister, Betty Miller.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday at GardenView Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
