| | | Michael R. “Bob” Sullivan, 89, of Waterloo, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Lakeview Landing. He was born February 19, 1920 in Waterloo the son of Daniel and Mary Ellen Delaney Sullivan. He married Gwendolyn Ruth Peet on September 1, 1951 in Waterloo; she preceded him in death in 2004.
He worked for John Deere Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1979 and then worked at Allen Memorial Hospital for 10 years, retiring in 1989. He was 75 year member of the Catholic Order of Forrester’s and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survived by: three sons, David Sullivan of Bloomfield, Tim (Lynn) Sullivan of Oregon, WI, Nick (Mary) Sullivan of Waterloo; three daughters, Marjorie Anderson, Rose (Don) Ward, Joyce (Larry) Meyer all of Waterloo; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and extended friends and family at Friendship Village and Lakeview Landing, who cared for him in his final days.
Preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; three brothers, Francis, Harold and John Sullivan and three sisters, Mary, Margaret and a twin sister Julia Rose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009 at St. Edward Catholic Church with entombment in the Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. with a 4 p.m. rosary held by the Catholic Order of Forresters and the Knights of Columbus at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball. Visitation will also be held one hour before the service at the church.
Memorials: may be directed to the family, where a memorial fund will be established at a later date.
