Barbara Ann Wortham-Wilson, 66, of Waterloo, died Thursday, February 6, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics of natural causes. She was born April 24, 1942 in Oxford, Miss the daughter of Lee Shelby and Clara May Townsend Wortham. She was married and later divorced.

She worked as a medical assistant in Miami, FL, Porky’s Red Carpet, McDonald’s, and drove bus for the Waterloo Schools. She was a member of the Union Baptist church and the Elks.

Survived by: four sons, Derrick L. (Marilyn) Wortham of Rockford, IL, Cornelius Johnson of Waterloo, Steven A. (Daphne) Johnson of Waterloo, Jesse L. (Carolyn) Wilson of Des Moines; one daughter, Sherry Johnson-Coleman of Waterloo; two step sons, Aundra (Pat) Johnson of Denver, CO, Vincent Porter of Waterloo; two step daughters, Rose M. Johnson of Waterloo, Regina Johnson of Waterloo; thirty one grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley L. (Jesters) Howard of Waterloo and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by: her parents; four sons, Dennis, LeRoy, Herlie Johnson Jr., William Robertson Jr.; one daughter, Stephanie Johnson; one grandson, Derrick “Flip” Wortham, Jr. and one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn DeAnn Johnson.

Services: will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 14, 2009 at Ambassadors for Christ Church with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours before the service on Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 1024 Adams St. Waterloo, IA 50703.
