| | | Ted Whitesell, 81, of Elk Run Heights, died Friday evening at his home of natural causes.
He was born October 9, 1927 in Silver Park, Saskatchewan, Canada, the son of John and Hazel Ledger Whitesell. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict having been awarded the Purple Heart.
Ted married Rolene Sweerin on February 6, 1951 in Austin, MN. He was a retired mail carrier for the Waterloo Post Office.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Teddy (Deb) Whitesell of Cedar Falls and Terry (Cynthia) Whitesell of Waterloo; one daughter, Sherri (Michael) Moore of Janesville; two sisters, Pearl Asmus of Cedar Falls and Eileen Acuff of Waterloo; one brother, Keith (Charlotte) Whitesell of Waterloo 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tommy; four brothers, Delbert, Donald, Johnny, Virgil and two brothers in infancy, Albert and Faye Lavern Whitesell.
