When we met he was Charlie Bickel. A LOT of years have passed since then! Charles was always good to me without fail. He had such a tender heart. Later in life he dated a dear friend of mine and he was wonderful with her daughter. There will be those that will only remember the things they read in the papers; but I will always hold dear my memories of the Charles that cooked a roast and invited me to dinner, that never failed to greet me with a hug, that studied braille with the hopes of teaching.
