Our sincere condolences to the children of Kristin and her whole family. Nobody knows why these things happen to good people and it is so hard to understand the great loss in our lives. We have to believe that She will be watching over all those she loved and those whose lives she touched. May the children always know how much she loved them and get through this knowing she will always be a part of them and will always see their accomplishments in life. May God be with you all. We are so very sorry for this tragic loss of a sweet, loving child, mother, sister, friend. May God comfort you all during this sad time.

From: Deb    10/05/2009 09:56 AM

Dear Mr. Palumbo, Mrs. Palumbo, Gina and Joe, I am so sorry for what you have to endure with the loss of Kristin. I can't imagine your pain and wish there was a way to take it all way. You are all in my thoughts and prayers, especially Kristin's children. A friend recently shared this with me: Your Mother is Always With You Ė Anonymous When you need mom most, don't forget she's still a part of you. Your mother is always with you...... She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street. She's the smell of bleach in your freshly laundered socks. She's the cool hand on your brow when you're not well. Your mother lives inside your laughter. She's crystallized in every tear drop... She's the place you came from, your first home. She's the map you follow with every step that you take. She's your first love and your first heart break....and nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, Not space... Not even death.... will ever separate you from your mother.... You carry her inside of you....

"Act in such a way that all those who come in contact with you will go away joyful. Sow happiness about you because you have received much from God; give, then, generously to others. They should take leave of you with their hearts filled with joy, even if they have no more than touched the hem of your garment." from the Diary of Saint Faustina. How do we honor the life of such a radiant soul, as Kristin? We remember the gifts she gave each and every day, because she lived the life as described in this quote. For having touched and loved so many souls on earth, her reward is God's eternal love in heaven. To Kristin's children: She loved you beyond words. Know that even though she is no longer visible to you, she is still with you every minute of each day. Love cannot be taken away by death. You all have a very special angel and she would want you to know that she is with you. Love, a friend.
From:    10/03/2009 02:27 PM

Dear Catherine, Joey and family. We are so sorry and wish there were magic words that we had to make all things better. Simply, we will always have you in our prayers along with our church family. Here is a passage from the Bible spoken by Jesus Christ (Matthew 11:28-30) that hopefully will bring peace. "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I a meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Always remember that our Lord loves you and will always be by your side. God Bless You All.
From: Patrick and Danielle Reader    10/03/2009 07:54 AM

I cannot begin to express the sadness I feel in my heart. I met Kristin 2 years ago when she started to work on labor and delivery at St Lukes. I had the pleasure of orienting her to this position for 4 months. During that first week I too had a tragic death in my family and when I came back to work I was hoping they had assigned her to someone else. They hadn't. After a month I realized why. Kristin was very insightful about what I was going through and helped me tremendously with her words, faith and books. I'm grateful that I was able to help her experience labor/delivery as a nurse. She said it was something she had always wanted to do. I pray that your family can find peace and strength. My Sincere condolences.

Gianna, I'm really sorry. Your friend, Jennelle Fallon
From: Jennelle    10/03/2009 06:33 AM

I graduated nursing school with Kristin. I remember her as a beautiful, intelligent, kind woman who loved her family dearly. She was pregnant during school with her youngest, and I clearly remember thinking how strong and driven she was to endure the task of completing school, raise a family, and add to her family all at the same time. Such a tragedy to have lost her. Her children are constantly in my thoughts. Rest in Peace Kristin.
From: Tanya, RN    10/03/2009 06:33 AM

I can't begin to tell you how my heart breaks for Kristin's family, children and friends. I worked with Kristin at MetLife and although I didn't know her well, it still doesn't lessen my pain for her friends and family. I, as well as the greater Utica community are still in shock and disbelief. May God Bless her 4 beautiful children in hopes that He gives them the strength they need to get through this awful time. I hope her family finds peace and comfort in the remarks everyone has made in these memorials which clearly shows how positively Kristin impacted those that knew her.

From: Herkimer County Deputies Wife    10/02/2009 05:53 PM

I do not know anyone in this family but I cannot get this tragic event out of my head. I have 4 children also...they, too, are my world and I wonder what would happen if I, like Kristen, was taken from them far too soon. I would hope they remembered how much I loved them and treasured every first step, every smile, every tear, every moment. I would hope they would rely on the strength of family, friends, prayer and the strength within themselves. And I would hope that just when they thought all hope was lost, that they would find one last memory of me to grasp onto and carry them through the rest of their lives. I hope all the same things for Kristen's children.

To the Palumbo Family and Longo Children - We are praying for the strength of the Lord for all of you during this most difficult time. Kristin should not have been taken away from all of you as she did, this was not God's plan. You now will share and keep all the memories of her in your hearts. My husband and I tried to go to the funeral home but I have laid up with a bad back and could not stay in the very long line for two hours to get in to convey our condolences. We are sorry.

I'm Gone now, but I'm still very near. Death can never separate us. Each time you feel a gentle breeze, It's my hand caressing your face. Each time the wind blows, It carries my voice whispering your name. When the wind blows your hair ever so slightly, Think of it as me pushing a few stray hairs back in place. When you feel a few raindrops fall on your face, It's me placing soft kisses. At night look up in the sky and see the stars shining so brightly. I'm one of those stars and I'm winking at you and smiling with delight. For never forget you're the apple of my eye. ~Mary M. Green~

From: Danielle Marose and children-Michael and Teressa DiNardo    10/02/2009 04:17 AM

The warmth of her smile The softness of her touch Her laugh that caused joy when you were sad and down The way she ruffled your hair in a loving, motherly way The way she hugged you just so right The way she called you to say hello made you feel special and warm The times she surprised you with her little gifts full of love The many ways she touched hearts as a daughter, sister, cousin, niece and mother May you wrap yourselves with the special quilt a warm, soft quilt made of memories as she embraces you. A quilt that knows no fabric or thread but has beautiful memories woven together. Pass on to others the smiles and love she gave and forever will her candle burn bright. God Bless to you all in your time of sorrow.

For about nine years my family had the absolute pleasure of living across the street from the Longo family on St. Jane Avenue. Our daughters Catherine and Michaleigh very quickly became the best of friends. I'll always remember Kristin as the most loving mother - always with a smile and a hug, a baby on her hip - and looking fabulous the whole time! As I sit with my own children and we talk about this very sad time for your family, I can't help but picture your mom and different snap shots in my mind of each of you as you were growing up. Catherine and Gianna in the Barbie jeep, Joey with all his hockey gear and Jared with that big belly and a laugh twice as big! Your mom is so very proud of each and everyone of you - you are all she talked about. Our family has been very blessed with your friendships and please know we love you and your family will be in our prayers.

Joey, Katherine, Gianna and Jared, I just want you to know that your mom was loved by so many people. I had the opportunity to not only work with her at Metlife, but to be her friend. I will always remember the great times we had at the cheerleading competitions and of course the shopping we did. Her love for you was always first and unconditional. Her eyes would light up when she spoke of you. She would always take the time to see how I was doing and was so concerned about my mom illness. Now she is a angel like my mom. No wonder we have a shortage of nurses on Earth when God calls the good ones to Heaven so young! Kristen was part of a very caring society and her short time at Liberty Mutual provided skilled direction and compassionate care for injured workers. Thank you to her family for sharing this mother/nurse with us. We mourn her loss with you and take comfort that God surely recognizes her love in Him through her mothering and nursing.

Dear Palumbo and Longo Family, It is with deep sympathy and regret that I write to you under these circumstances. In December 2008, I attended training with Kristin. For the week, we spent some down time together talking when the others went off for break sessions. It was during those times, that I was allowed to get to know what her passions and desires were: 1) To get back home to her family as soon as possible because she loved and missed you all so much. 2) To get some rest-for she was always was helping others and giving so much of herself. 3) To take in some shopping because she was one of the "sharpest" dressers around. Youíre in my prayers Joey, Gianna, Catherine, Jared, and families.

TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF KRISTIN...PLEASE ACCEPT OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY FOR YOUR LOSS...OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL...ANDREW & LINDA CONVERTINO
From: Andrew & Linda Convertino    10/01/2009 11:07 AM

"If Tomorrow Never Comes" If I knew it would be the last time that I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly and pray the Lord, your soul to keep. If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more. If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day. If I knew it would be the last time, I could spare an extra minute or two to stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming you would KNOW I do. If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day, well I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let just this one slip away. For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything right. There will always be another day to say our "I love you's", And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do's?" But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get, I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget, Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight.. So if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today? For if tomorrow never comes, you'll surely regret the day, That you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss and you were too busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish. So hold your loved ones close today, whisper in their ear, Tell them how much you love them and that you'll always hold them dear, Take time to say "I'm sorry," "please forgive me," "thank you" or "it's okay". And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today. anonymous~ May the Longo children know that their Mom was their angel here on earth and now she is their angel in Heaven watching over you. Rip...till we all meet again.

To the Palumbo Family - I am so sorry for your loss. Kristin was one of my dearest friends at St. Mary's. We spent hours playing and laughing, being silly and having fun. It was Kristin's smile and great sense of humor that made her such a wonderful person. She could turn the most boring day into a memorable one. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I remember Kristin from work at MetLife several years ago. She was a kind and beautiful spirit. I am so saddened for her children, her parents and all of the extended family members that her passing has left here on earth. It is difficult to grasp the concept that we are here but for a brief wink of time, and that we will spend eternity with the Lord. I truly believe that Kristin is waiting with open arms in heaven for the day when her family members arrive, so that she can live for eternity with you all. My prayer is that your family's will live every day to its fullest, and that you will make Kristin proud for all of your lives.

Wow, what can I say. Wish I had a magic wand to reverse all of this and take your pain away from you all- especially the children. As a mom, my heart completely breaks for those kids. I wish I could just embrace them and tell them that this community loves them and will be there for them. Why does such evil have to exist in this world?!!! We just don't know why. I can't begin to feel the pain that all of you are going through but please know, I am just a person in the community that never met your beloved Kristen but yet her light is still shining on this community, casting her love down, touching the hearts of all to comfort her loved ones and care for her children above all else and this we shall do for her. Love and prayers to you all. From a prayerful friend.

I am so deeply sorry to hear of this awful tragedy. Krisin was my best friend from Kindergarten until eigth grade. After that we kind of lost touch since we both went to different high schools. Even though I haven't seen Kristin since eigth grade, I still think of her often. We spent a lot of time together playing at her house or mine raking leaves at her grandmas sleep overs our band and countless other grade school memories. She was always a nice friend and I am so sorry her life ended the way it did. I am keeping you all and her children in my prayers. I am very deeply sorry. Gina Talarico Janis
