| Robert John Babbitt, one of three children of Shirleyann Sophia (Hansen) Babbitt and Harry Arthur Babbitt, was born in Omaha, Nebraska on January 5, 1970. Robert grew up in Malvern, Iowa and attended Malvern Schools.
He worked at Oakland Foods in Oakland, Iowa and later was a laborer for the Union at the nuclear plant in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska. Robert then cared for his mother in Malvern until her death on August 8, 2006. Robert’s enjoyments included hunting, fishing and cooking. He loved to eat at Spanky’s in Emerson, the Golden Corral, and Saturday tacos at McGee’s in Council Bluffs. However, his greatest love and joy was spending time with his daughters, Crystal Marie and Chelsey Marie. Robert died unexpectedly at his home in Malvern on February 16, 2007. He was preceded in death by his infant twin brother Ronald Babbitt; grandparents Dorothy and Jesse Babbitt and Alvina and Johannas Hansen; step-grandfather Winfield D. Purchase; sister Christy (Babbitt) Carroll in 2004; and his mother Shirley Babbitt. Robert is survived by his father Harry Babbitt of Malvern; twin daughters Crystal Babbitt and Chelsey Babbitt of Hastings, Iowa; brother Don Harbaugh, his wife Nina and their son Mason of Swea City, Iowa; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. | ||
