William James Andersen, one of two children of William James Andersen, Sr. and Otilia (Bochek) Andersen, was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 21, 1930. Bill graduated from South High in Omaha in 1948 and In 1951 was drafted into the United States Army where he served as a radio repairman. Following his discharge in 1953, Bill returned to Omaha where he joined the Local 22 IBEW and worked as a Journeyman Electrician until his retirement in 1992.
Bill and Gloria Jane White were married in Omaha on October 1, 1955 and were blessed with their son Gordon. Bill loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards, especially poker, and his Tuesday luncheons with the guys. He loved his family and adored spending time with his grandson Caleb.
Bill and Gloria Jane had been married 52 years when Bill died at the Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa on December 20, 2007 at the age of 77 years, 4 months, and 29 days. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Gloria Jane Andersen of Pacific Junction, IA; son Gordon Andersen and his wife Kelly of Malvern, IA and their son Caleb; and brother Robert V. Andersen and his wife Mary Ann of Cedar Creek, NE; niece Darlene Frank and nephews Robert S. Andersen and Eric J. Andersen all of Omaha, NE.

Burial will be in the Thurman, Iowa Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Salvation Army.
