| | | Edith Alice (Harvey) Frank Allensworth, the eldest of two daughters of Maude Zella (Perkins) and Otis Harvey, was born at Treynor, Iowa on February 26, 1912. Following high school, Edith cleaned homes for area families and worked as a waitress. Edith and Donald Frank were married on February 25, 1933 and made their home in Macedonia, Iowa. Edith was a homemaker, who enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardening and had a reputation as “one hell of a cook”. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Judith LaDon and Joyce LaVon. Edith and Don had been married 19 years when Don died on December 11, 1952.
Edith and Keith Rayburn Allensworth of Henderson, Iowa were married on December 20, 1958 at Papillion, Nebraska. They made their home in Weeping Water, Nebraska and moved to Bellevue, Nebraska in 1963. Edith and Keith had been married 44 years when Keith died on July 18, 2003. In August 2003, Edith moved to the Griswold Care Center in Griswold, Iowa where she died on October 16, 2007. She had attained the age of 95 years, 7 months, and 20 days.
In addition to her husbands, Don and Keith, Edith was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Lewis of Carson, Iowa and Joyce Lewis and her husband Richard of Greeley, Colorado; four grandchildren, Kandy Wolf and her husband Kent, Sherrie Jay and her husband Dale, Rick Lewis and his wife Melissa, and Joni Lewis; four great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; sister Dorothy Miller and husband Max of Griswold, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
