  VIEW/SEND CONDOLENCES

Edna Florence Albright, daughter of Hershel Houston and Nova Ruth Kirkman Houston was born April 27, 1928 in Arroll, Missouri and died March 8, 2009 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 11 days.

Edna graduated from High School in Grand Junction, Iowa. On March 30, 1947, she married Dareld Albright at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They are parents of one daughter, Susan. The couple made their home in various places, but most of their married lives were spent in Boone, Iowa. In 1995 Dareld and Edna moved to Perry and due to Edna’s health requirements, moved to Des Moines in 2003. Edna had worked for Bournes in Ames for several years. She was a great fan of spectator sports, but especially loved her Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes. She enjoyed making Christmas Candies, and also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Beulah Bollerman, Marie Rice, Phyllis Peachey, and Thelma Mulder.

Edna is survived by her husband Dareld of Des Moines; daughter Susan of Urbandale; three very special friends who are like daughters: Chris McMurray, Mary Beth Gross, and Donna Burgess all of Urbandale; aunt Ruth Kirkman of Perry; Marvel Enslow of Boone, Vera Stone of Bayard, and Clifford Albright of Guthrie Center, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
