| | | Bonnie Gertrude Carico was born April 7, 1916 in Coeburn, Virginia to parents Marshall Counts and Bessie Rasnick Counts and died Sunday, August 3, 2008 at the Perry Lutheran Home in Perry, Iowa. Bonnie grew up in the Coeburn, Virginia area and received her diploma. On July 10, 1948, she was wed to Samuel Milton Carico. They had four children: Sam, George, Nancy, and Bess. The family moved to Perry after living in Baltimore, Maryland for twenty years. Bonnie was a teacher and loved to write poetry. She was a published poet. She was a member of the Perry Gospel Lighthouse Church and the Presidential Task Force. In her spare time, she continued to enjoy writing poetry.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Loni Belle Counts and Peggy Kilgore, and brother, George Counts.
Bonnie is survived by her four children: George Kiser (Martha) of Normal, IL, Sam Kiser (New Mexico), Nancy Dittert (Patrick) of Perry, IA, and Bess Reed of Joppa, MD; six grandchildren: Robert Dittert (Amber), Jacob Dittert (Kerry), Michael Dittert, Bob Kiser, Jeff Kiser, and Edith Kiser; ten great-grandchildren; sisters Ruth Barnhill of Pennsylvania and June Kilgore of Baltimore, MD; other relatives and many friends.
