Our family has always believed in fair prices. It has been a long standing tradition to provide the finest facilities and service at a reasonable cost. We know the importance of helping each family plan the funeral they want within their own budget. Having the very best doesn't have to cost the most. We also understand that the funeral is a major purchase of one's life time. However, somewhere in life no one clues you in on that particular fact. Often the question is asked. "What’s an average funeral cost?" Our answer is usually. "What’s average for one family is not going to be average for the next." Though there are certain costs every family will encounter, the family can control the final cost by their selection of merchandise and the type of services they wish to have. In general what we are finding is a family will spend usually between $7,200.00 and perhaps $9,600.00. Which as mentioned the cost is controlled by how and what you selected for services and merchandise. When a family has to purchase a funeral there are two major areas that involve us here at the Funeral Home and they are:
A.)Professional Service Fee-Hiring Hanlin Funeral Home for the services that we provide and render (range from $2,747.00 to $5,141.00).
B.)Merchandise such as Caskets (range from $495.00 to $31,688.00) and Outer Burial Structures ("Vault" which is not required by law range from $1,095.00 to $18,500.00) Memorial Packages--Register Book, Cards, Acknowledgements, Floral Pieces, and sometimes a DVD Memorial Tribute. These are the items that make up a large portion of the funeral that one will purchase. There are still some other costs that a family will encounter over and above the Funeral Home. We refer to these costs as third party cost, which are cost over and above the Funeral Home cost. These are people who will have a fee for their services that we as the Funeral Home have no control over their cost or methods of payment and or policy regarding payment. Most of these individuals require payment before services are rendered. However, they are still part of the overall total Funeral cost. These are people such as the Daily Papers for Obituary Notices, Cemetery Cost, purchasing a Marker for the grave, Flower Shops, Soloist, Organist and sometime a Catering Company for the dinner after the funeral. One can begin to imagine the benefit of preplanning and if one's able to pre-fiancé their funeral. For a complete draft summary of the possible cost at today’s cost, please feel free to call or stop in at no obligation to you. We'd be honored to answer any and all of your questions that maybe of concern to you and your family. HANLIN FUNERAL HOME (989)-871-4591, or you can e-mail us daleehanlinfh@hotmail.
