Louis passed away Thursday evening July 3, 2008 while at the Cooper Campus of the Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw MI. Louis was 82.
Louis L. Smith was born on April 29, 1926 in Clio MI. and was the son of George & Carol (Conlee) Smith. Louis served our country in the US Army both during WW-II and some time served during the Korean War. After returning home Louis marriued Miss Madelene Tempelton, together he and Madelene celebrated 55 years of marriage before she passed in 2005. Louis retired from the Eaton Foundry in Vassar after 39.9 years of service with the company. Louis loved spending time with family and friends. He especially loved his times fishing with family and friends. Louis also had a love for horses and harness horse racing. Louis leaves four children: Sherrill Wolpert, Brian & Deb Smith, Annette Eberstein, and Todd & Hannah Smith. Also one grandson, and seven granddaughters, and his four great grandchildren. Louis leaves also two brothers; George & Bud Smith, and four sisters; Evelyn, Lorine, Glenor, and Carol, as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family. Louis is also preceded in death by a daughter Gayle, a brother Jack, three sisters; Louise (his twin), Norene, and Irene, and a son in-law Irvine Eberstein.
