Darwin passed away early Wednesday morning April 23, 2008 at his daughters residence. Darwin was 91.
Darwin G. Blake the son of Clark & Grace (Norton) Blake and was born in Arbela Twp. at the family farm on July 16, 1916. He was raised and spent his entire life in the Millington and Vassar area's working his whole life on the family farm. On October 21, 1944 Darwin married Miss Norma Jean Sherman, Norma preceded him in death on March 31, 1997. She and Darwin celebrated 53 years together before her passing. Darwin leaves his four children: Darlene & Jerry McNeal, Kathy Dwyer, Gordon Blake, and David Blake, 11 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Darwin also leaves a brother and sister in-law Leo & Betty Blake. Special nephews Jim & Larry Henderson, as well as several other nieces, nephews, and extended familhy. Besides his wife, Darwin is also preceded in death by a grandson Mark Dwyer, a brother Finley Blake, and two sisters; Althea Johnson, and Cora Louise Henderson.
