Richard N. “Dick” Larter, 74, of Charleston went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan 5, 2011 in CAMC Memorial Hospital.
He worked for Elco Mechanical Contractors and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Charleston. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Hazel Buckner Larter; siblings, Jim and Jack Larter; Pauline Walker and Betty White.
Surviving are
His loving wife of 50 years Phyllis Hammack Larter
Daughter Valarie Rucker and husband Rick who was like a son, of Charleston
Sister Phyllis Counts Jeffers of Sebring, Florida
Granddaughter Abigail Marie
Mother-in-Law Blanch Hammack Conway of Dunbar, WV
Family would like to say a special “thank you” to the friends and family who made phone calls and stopped by to see “Dick” during his illness it meant a lot to him for people to stay in contact with him.
Also the family would like to give a special thank you to the doctors who took care of him during his time of need as we’ll helping the family themselves during their time of need, Dr. Doug Haden, Dr. James Campbell, Dr. Nicholas Young, Dr. Seth Walker, Dr. Steven Artz and wonderful staff at WVU Physicians of Charleston MacCorkle Ave office.
Service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at the Bethany Baptist Church with Pastor Rodney Smith and Pastor Lee Swor officiating.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service at Bethany Baptist Church.
