The Old Brick Playhouse Company is a professional touring theatre headquartered in the heart of the Allegheny highlands. Under the direction of Missy Armentrout, the company has distinguished itself with kinetic, road tested musical comedy for children and families, an apprentice program and summer day camp. Recently, additional programs have been added - clowning workshops, in-school acting residencies with two different themes and a children's show dealing with issues of bereavement and loss. The Old Brick is currently in its sixth touring season; its fourth that features original material exclusively. Last year, the Old Brick reached audiences in excess of 100,000 - all over West Virginia and Virginia - and performed in venues as diverse as Marmet Elementary; the National Theatre in Washington, D.C.; and the Greenbrier Resort Hotel. The goal of the Old Brick Playhouse Company is to provide quality, entertaining theatre to children and families throughout West Virginia and the rest of the United States. Some shows have toured outside the country and hopefully will continue doing so in the future. All of the Old Brick's children's shows have been invited to overseas festivals.
