When Brook Noel's only sibling was stung by a bee in 1997, he died within
minutes from an anaphylactic reaction. Prior to that fateful day, they
had not known that this 27-year-old athlete, in perfect health, had any
sort of bee allergy.
As an author, Brook turned to books for support. She was stunned to find
virtually no books existed for those who had experienced a sudden and
traumatic loss. She set out to write the most comprehensive book to help
others who were facing the same sadness.
Teaming up with Doctor Pamela D. Blair, the two women (both having experienced
sudden loss) culled expert information and firsthand accounts to create
the most comprehensive resource available during this trying time. The
book was an immediate bestseller in its category and has remained so ever
since. Widely used in the wake of 9-11, Noel and her work have been feature
on ABC World News, CNN Headline News and others.
Noel decided to continue her grief work through establishing an entire
library of resources for those who are grieving.
