| CHESAPEAKE - Harold Shelby Giles, 63, passed away September 29, 2009. A native of Chesapeake, he was the son of Mildred Smith Giles and the late Willie A. Giles. A U.S. Army veteran, he retired as a heavy equipment operator, most recently with MEB Construction.
He is survived by his wife, June C. Giles; a son, David W. Giles of Philadelphia, PA; two step-children, Carol V. Wilson and her husband, Neil of Suffolk and Darrell L. Dorn of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, David W. Giles, McKayla Giles and Alex Dorn; four sisters, Jeanette Faircloth, Gaynell Garrett, Rosalie Collins, and Cindy Parker; a brother, Willie Giles; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Shelby Lee Giles. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Simonsdale Presbyterian Church, 5016 Vick Street, Portsmouth, with Rev. Martha S.
