CHESAPEAKE – Clarence Wayne Alston, 59, of the 200 block of Thrasher Road, passed away in Chesapeake. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of Mildred Hall Alston and the late John W. Alston. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he worked as a marine equipment specialist at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He attended Cedar Road Chapel and was a radio-controlled model sailboat enthusiast.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sharon E. Alston; a daughter, Jennifer E. Alston; two brothers, W. Calvin Alston and his wife, Gloria, and C. Wilbur Alston and his wife, Martha, all of Chesapeake; and a niece, Patricia Condrey of Elizabeth City, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 12 noon in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel with Pastor Terry Reel officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk.
