Michael J. “Boe” Kinzie, 52, of Chanute and a former Parsons resident, died at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2004 at Harry Hynes Memorial Care Unit in Wichita. He had been in ill health for the past six weeks.
He was born May 1, 1951 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a son of Charles E. Kinzie and Catherine (Jarboe) Kinzie. As an infant, he moved with his family to Parsons, where he grew up and attended St. Patrick’s Elementary School. He graduated from Maur Hill Catholic High School in Atchison, Kansas. After graduating from high school, he returned to Parsons and worked with his parents at Kinzie Home Furnishings. He later worked as a chef in several restaurants and clubs in Florida before returning to Parsons, where he was a chef at the Parsons Country Club. In 1997, he moved to Tulsa and was employed as a warehouse manager with Jarboe Sales for several years. In 2001, he moved to Chanute, where he was currently a chef as well as the fishing manager and event coordinator for the Lil’ Toledo Lodge.
He enjoyed fishing with his family and friends. He was also an artist and enjoyed cooking.
He and Kaye (Hurtt) Lightner of Garden City, Kansas were married. They were later divorced.
He and Marti (Simkin) Wells-Smith of Fort Scott, Kansas were married. They were later divorced.
He and Marianne (Velardi) Binkley were married in Port St. Lucie, Florida. They were later divorced.
SURVIVORS:
One Son – Michael Kinzie Port St. Lucie, Florida
Two Daughters – Heather Fulling and her husband, Mark Greeley, Colorado
Emily Kinzie Saratoga, Wyoming
Three Grandchildren – Tyler Fulling, Madison Fulling and Ashton Kinzie
One Brother – Brian C. Kinzie Edna, Kansas
Three Sisters – Adria Morrison Parsons
Milissa Gofourth Stillwater, Oklahoma
Ann Wiley Liberty, Kansas
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Catherine Kaye Fulling, who died November 1, 1994.

A private family service will be held.
Memorials are suggested to a college fund for his son, Michael, and his grandchildren. These may be left at or mailed to the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, 405 Main, Parsons, Kansas 67357.
