Palmer Broadus Green, 84, of 542 North Fairview Avenue, died Monday, October 19, 2009, at Magnolia Manor. Born December 24, 1924, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Broadus B. and Alice Spencer Green. He was a retired supervisor with Spartan Mills, Beaumont Division, a lifelong member of Beaumont Mill Village Masonic Lodge # 360, a member of Beaumont Baptist Church, and a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Hicks Green; a son, Tommy N. Green of Inman; a daughter, Alice P. Martin and husband Ronnie of Chesnee; three grandchildren, Terry Hughey, Steve Hughey, and Kim Green; and three great-grandchildren, Kristen Harrell, Robbie Green, and Stephen Hughey, Jr. He was predeceased by a son, Robby Eugene Green; five brothers, Wilbern, Charles, Herman, Albert, and Boyd Green; and three sisters, Delores Green, Bertha Hayes, and Mildred Brown.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at Sunset Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. John Cox and the Rev. Rupert Guest. Military Honors will be provided by the South Carolina State Guard Honors Team
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaumont Baptist Church Building Fund, 945 Beaumont Avenue Ext., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
