Lillian Smith Carter, 90, of 200 Fortress Drive, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at RoseCrest. Born April 16, 1919, in Westminster, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Curtis and Tillie Burdette Smith and the wife of the late James Alvin Carter. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Spartanburg.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna Kay Green and her husband Mike of Boiling Springs, Yvonne Cooper and her husband Michael of Portland, OR, and Sheila Easley of Greer; a brother, Herbert Smith of Spartanburg; two granddaughters, Gina Rogers and her husband Sean of Boiling Springs, and Elisa Pettigrew and her husband David of Acworth, GA; and two great- granddaughters, Kaylin and Kendyl Rogers of Boiling Springs. She was predeceased by three sisters, Coleen Bagwell, Louise Tipton, and Pat Bailey; and three brothers, Jack, Woody, and Bobby Smith.

Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2009, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Ralph Brown. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 218-A Trade Street, Greer, SC 29651.
